Ken Canavan, President
E4 Carolinas has announced that Ken Canavan has been named President, effective January 22nd.
As president of E4 Carolinas, a trade association representing approximately 150 energy companies and energy related members, Canavan will be responsible for the overall performance of the organization including identifying opportunities for members to work together to solve complex issues such as workforce development, energy innovation, economic development and energy policy that supports a smart energy transition in the Carolinas.
“Collaboration across the energy sector is more important today than ever before as the Carolinas transition to a cleaner energy future,” said Jeff Merrifield, chair. “E4 Carolinas plays an important role by providing a platform for members to come together and identify opportunities to share resources or align on strategies for success. Ken’s experience and knowledge of the industry, from engineering to operations, will serve our members well.”
Canavan is an accomplished leader with 36 years of experience in the energy industry including leading functions at Westinghouse, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and most recently as Vice President of Growth and Chief Revenue Officer for Structural Integrity Associates. Ken is succeeding John Morrison who resigned in February 2023 and Bonnie Loomis, who has served as Interim Director during the executive search.
“We are very appreciative of Bonnie’s leadership during our search and thank her for stepping up to fill the leadership role during our transition.” Merrifield said. “Ken is the right leader at the right time and I am confident he will position E4 Carolinas for success in 2024 and beyond”.
E4 Carolinas envisions the region attracting and retaining the world’s foremost energy companies, innovators and leaders.
Our mission is to cultivate a collaborative Carolina energy cluster to accelerate economic growth, efficient resources and care for our environment, resulting in increased employment, productivity and prosperity. Those are our four “Es.”
Our vision will be realized and mission accomplished by creating:
E4 Carolinas members are from all energy sectors and all parts of the Carolinas. Some are large and established and others are small, early-stage companies. Some are directly engaged in the Carolinas energy production and infrastructure industries while others provide valuable services and supplies. Regardless of their size or role, all have found they can be more valuable and successful through collaboration in E4 Carolinas’ task forces, programs, and events.
